Chungli, Taiwan, February 03, 2005 -- Delta Electronics, Inc., a world leader in power system technologies and manufacturing, has introduced the IPM04C and IPM12C product of non-isolated, fully integrated, extremely cost effective and very convenient to use Point-of-Load (POL) power modules into their Delphi Series of Board Mounted DC/DC power converters.

The Delphi Series IPM04C/IPM12C family of product provides up to 6A or 20W of output current/power in a compact, industry standard, IC-like, molded package all, which is available at a very attractive price point.

The IPM04C and IPM12C units are highly integrated POLs that need no external components to provide its point-of-load function. They operate from either a 3V~5.5V (IPM04C) or an 8V~14V (IPM12C) source and provide a wide range of output voltages from 0.8V~5V (IPM12C). These units are available in either a SMD or SIP package. A copper pad on the back of the module, when in close contact with internal heat dissipation components, provides excellent thermal performance, as well as extremely high reliability under highly stressful operating conditions. The assembly process of these modules is fully automated with no manual assembly involved.

The IC-like IPM04C and IPM12C units offer high efficiency of up to 94% at full load. With optimized component placement and creative design from Delta's World Wide Engineering Teams, the Delphi Series IPM04C/IPM12C converters deliver not only outstanding electrical and thermal performance, but have industry leading efficiencies which translate into more board space at less cost for our customer's space constrained and cost-sensitive applications. The IPM04C/IPM12C will meet MSL Level 3 and are lead free process compatible. RoHS and lead free compliant samples will be available soon.

The Delphi Series IPM04C/IPM12C POL converter samples are available now. In OEM quantities of 1000 pieces, the unit price is US$6.5 for IPM04C and US$5.25 for IPM12C. Standard lead-time for this product is from stock to 8 weeks, depending on the volume.
