Thanks to its modular system concept, the new and highly efficient CI 100 central inverter offers maximum flexibility, user-friendliness and reliability.
At the Intersolar trade fair, held in Munich, Germany, Delta is presenting a prototype of the new CI 100 central inverter for the very first time. With its modular central inverter system, Delta is accommodating the demands of the market in terms of flexible inverter solutions with higher power ratings.
Up to nine inverter modules, each of which offers 11 kW nominal output power, form the core of the inverter system.
The benefits of a modular approach at a glance:
- System solutions from 11 kW up to 100 kW can be realised quickly and cost-effectively.
- Highly fail-safe thanks to N+1 redundancy of 11 kW plug-in modules connected in parallel Inverter module failures do not lead to a failure of the entire system: the mains supply is continued, meaning that there is no interruption in output.
- Extended service life thanks to both intelligent partial shutdown of inverter modules when solar radiation is reduced and a rolling master module principle developed by Delta. (For this, an algorithm that takes into account the operating hours of the individual modules is used to determine which inverter module shall assume control of the system when it is started up. This considerably increases the system modules' service life.)
- Easy to maintain: 11 kW modules can be replaced quickly and effortlessly. Each module is connected to the system by means of just one rear connector. The system enables AC-side selective isolation by means of automatic circuit breakers.
Additional product features:
- Maximum efficiency of 95.6% (EU: 94.6%) thanks to an optimum circuit concept with input-side buck converter and LLC resonant transformer
- DC voltage range between 400 V and 900 V
- MPP voltage range between 450 V and 800 V
- Use of Delta's proven MPP tracking technology for two separate strings
- Central DC isolation device for each string (2)
- Compact structure means that system only requires an installation space with 1 m width and 60 cm depth
- Suitable for all commercial solar modules. HF-technology with electrical isolation and possibility of positive or negative-terminal isolation also makes the system suitable for thin-layer and rear modules.
- All system data can be called up via the integrated system controller with colour touch screen display. PV system monitoring interface
- Just 460 kg in weight
The new CI 100 central inverter from Delta is available as of the third quarter of 2008, at an end customer price of 32,000 euros.
